Manjo Jozo
マンジョウジョウゾウ
Manjo Jozo, established in 1647, is a brewery that has been continuously innovating for generations. The 15th generation owner, Kuheiji Kuno, embarked on a mission to "shed new light on sake in the 21st century," leading to the birth of their flagship brand, "Kuheiji." Their brewing philosophy, "It all starts from the rice fields and vineyards," emphasizes a deep connection to the land and its raw materials. The brewery actively cultivates its own rice in Kurodasho, Hyogo, and Okayama, aiming to express the unique "drama" of each year's harvest in their sake. This commitment is exemplified by their "direct connection between rice fields and brewery" concept, including a new brewery within their own rice fields in Kurodasho. Manjo Jozo is also known for its pioneering spirit, having introduced "Kuheiji" in Paris and even venturing into wine production in Burgundy, France, with "DOMAINE KUHEIJI." This global perspective and dedication to understanding the essence of fermentation, from rice to grape, allows them to create sake that transcends borders and cultures, earning international acclaim for its elegance and quality.
